SNC and the Green Bay Packers

Ron Wolf

Wolf started with the Packers in 1991, during some of the organizations toughest times.  Within just a few years, Wolf brought one of the most legendary franchises back into the NFL spotlight.  It all started with two major acquisitions: head coach Mike Holmgren and a quarterback named Brett Favre.  Then in 1997, the Packers brought the Vince Lombardi trophy back to Title Town.

Wolf’s ten seasons with Green Bay was truly significant to say the least, leaving the team with nine winning seasons, including seven playoff appearances.  But before he left, Wolf made sure the organization was in a good position in the front office, hiring Ted Thompson and other significant administrators.  Since Wolf’s departure after the 2000 season, the Packers have been viewed as one the most premier franchises in the NFL.

And to think that national sportswriters were writing articles in the early 90’s talking about how the Packers should leave Green Bay, the NFL’s smallest city, and move to a bigger market like Milwaukee.  Instead, Ron Wolf came in with one thing in mind, “I was brought here to win.”
